Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Your health information, explained.
Effective date: October 9, 2026
This policy explains how RC Horowitz & Company, Inc. ("RC Horowitz," "we") collects, uses, and shares consumer health data, and how you can exercise your rights. It is provided under Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar state laws, including those in Nevada and Connecticut. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Consumer health data we collect
"Consumer health data" means personal information that identifies, or could be used to identify, your past, present, or future physical or mental health. Depending on the study and what you choose to tell us, we may collect:
- Health conditions, diagnoses, symptoms, and when they started
- Treatments, procedures, and therapies you use or have used
- Prescription and non-prescription medications, and medical devices
- The types of healthcare providers you see and how you get care
- Caregiving information about a person you care for, including their health conditions and treatments
- Health-related information in your answers to screening questions for a particular study
How we use consumer health data
- To find out whether you may qualify for research studies and to match you with studies that fit
- To contact you about studies, confirm that you meet a study's requirements, and schedule your participation
- To prevent duplicate or fraudulent participation and to confirm study quotas are filled accurately
- To respond to your requests and to keep records our legal obligations require
We do not use consumer health data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Where the data comes from
- Directly from you, through your profile, screening questions, phone calls, and emails with our recruiters
- From a caregiver or family member who signs up on behalf of, or provides information about, a person they care for
- From research clients who give us a list of people to contact for a specific study, under a project agreement
Your consent
We ask for your consent before we collect health information in your profile or in screening questions, and we ask for your separate consent before we share it with the research team for a study. You can say no or withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw consent, we will stop collecting and sharing your consumer health data, though we may not be able to consider you for some studies.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Confirm whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data (we do not sell it)
- Access your consumer health data, including a list of the third parties and affiliates we have shared it with and how to contact them
- Withdraw your consent to our collection and sharing of your consumer health data
- Delete your consumer health data, including copies held by our service providers. Deletion from backup systems may take up to six months.
We will not treat you differently or unfairly for using these rights.
